Black 3.jpg

Meet Marcus Blackwell. |Morehouse Man. Entrepreneur. CEO.|

Founder of: Make Music Count.

Proves that the Black Man Can: Build a company that teaches kids math through the production of music. Blackwell has done something extraordinary and innovative. With his company, Make Music Count, he teaches kids each lesson through learning how to play a song on the piano. Each musical note that is played is derived by solving an algebraic equation. Through this new method, other teachers can use it to excite students about learning mathematics. Mathematics will be seen as fun while also strengthening students understanding of solving algebra equations through this new, fun, and exciting method. Blackwell has also created an app for his method that kids and teachers can download. It is available now through the Apple app store and Google Play Store. Click below to contact Marcus and to download the app.

Meet Konata J. Nicholson. |Lecturer. Legacy Builder. Founder.|

Founder of: Hip Hop Gives Back

Proves that the Black Man Can: Proves that the Black Man Can: Build an organization that uses Hip Hop as a vehicle for humanitarianism. After many years of Hip Hop culture and its community bearing the burden of blame of deteriorating and demoralizing the world, HipHopGivesBack.com is the premiere catalyst committed to cultivating the awareness of the positive efforts, endeavors, and accomplishments of Hip Hop Culture and its communities.

Members of this Hip Hop generation are incessantly exposed and put on display when they have been observed by the media demonstrating negative behavior. Rarely are they given positive feedback or aptly rewarded for their philanthropic accomplishments worldwide. Hip Hop did not create present world issues. However, it is noticeable that our culture has become a scapegoat to blame for much negativity exhibited.

We recognize Konata for giving us, HipHopGivesBack! It is here to remove negative reinforcements that have been placed upon Hip Hop Culture and its communities by bringing you stories of programs, events and priceless moments that are the result of positivity within.
